L'Oreal Denies Lightening Beyonce's Skin In Ad

Beyonce’s skin color in the latest L’Oreal ad has been criticized when TMZ.com compared two side-by-side photos comparing the ad with another photo of Beyonce with noticeably darker skin.

Meanwhile, the cosmetics giant L’Oreal is denying the claims, saying in a statement, “We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles' features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color.”

Beyonce’s representative has no comment beyond L’Oreal’s statement.

The new ad is in the September issues of Allure, Essence and Elle. A representative from Elle Magazine said that the ads in their magazine are reviewed before they are printed. "We don't put things into our magazine without looking into them first," said Elle spokesperson Anne Janas.
